My name is Gordie Sherman, and my goal is to teach upper elementary students, ranging from 3rd to 6th grade. I am deeply passionate about guiding young learners through their educational journeys, helping them not only grasp new concepts but also discover the joy of learning. I aim to inspire my students to reach their fullest potential and cultivate a lifelong love of knowledge. Some interesting things about me are that I've been playing drums since I was 5 years old, and it’s a big part of who I am! I also have a dog named Arfus, who is always by my side, especially when we’re out exploring nature trails together. And I’m excited to share that I’m getting married next summer!
In my free time, I enjoy reading a wide range of books, especially Sci-Fi and Fantasy, as I love diving into new worlds. Video games are another hobby of mine, where I can unwind and challenge myself. And of course, I cherish spending quality time outdoors with Arfus, hiking, and enjoying the beauty of nature. I thrive on learning about anything and everything, and one of my greatest joys is helping others unlock their potential and discover what they’re truly capable of. Some of my favorite quotes that inspire me both personally and professionally include, "It's great to have fun, but more fun to be great," and "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." These words remind me to strive for greatness while never losing sight of the joy of learning!
During the summer, I teach drums!
